According to the Resident Evil website, players are able to halt their progress by quitting out of the game, with the 60-minute timer pausing until Continue is selected from the menu. Just like previous RE Village demos with timers, players will have a limited time to experience the game in third-person - one hour. The gameplay demo for Resident Evil Village Gold Edition became available on October 20 at 4 PM Pacific time, and is downloadable from the proprietary digital storefronts on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and on PC via Steam. Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition is set to release on October 28th accompanied by the Winters' Expansion, which will introduce several more features to the game, including new additions like Lady Dimitrescu to the Mercenaries mode in Village, the aforementioned third-person mode for the main storyline, and the Shadows of Rose DLC expansion.
